Brevard College graduate Cassidy Hutto ’24 has been named Assistant Coach for the Women’s Lacrosse program.
Hutto, a three-year member of the Brevard College women’s lacrosse program, will begin her duties on June 1 in advance of the 2025-26 academic year. She joins the staff of Head Coach Sarah Perry, who enters her second season at the helm of Brevard College Women’s Lacrosse.
“I’m very excited to have Cass join the coaching staff,” commented Coach Perry. “She will help us excel on the defensive side, making it possible to focus on individual positions at practice. Being an alumna of the program, I know she cares about lacrosse and this team and wants to see it be successful. She is a hard worker, and I know she will be a great addition to our team!”
Hutto recently walked across the graduation stage at Brevard College following the completion of her Bachelor’s in Business & Organizational Leadership with a minor in Criminal Justice. She is currently pursuing her Master’s of Business Administration at Brevard.
“I am super excited to join the team as a staff member after spending time at BC as a student-athlete,” remarked Hutto. “I am looking forward to forming new bonds with the players and ultimately helping the team succeed!”
During her time as a student-athlete at Brevard, Hutto was able to gain valuable experience within collegiate athletics, serving as an intern with the Department of Athletics in the Summer of 2024. Hutto assisted with updating marketing materials for the Tornado Club and other related fundraising events, and also refreshed onboarding policies and paperwork for new department hires.
Hutto also completed an internship with the American Association of University Women in Brevard. She worked remotely with publicity of their annual book sale event and published calendar listings in local magazines and newspapers to promote the event. Additionally, she contributed to their social media by helping manage their Instagram account.
While also competing on the field for the Tornados, Hutto was a member of both the Omicron Delta Kappa and Alpha Phi Sigma honor societies. Hutto served as the president of the Morgan’s Message Club, and served as both the Community Engagement Director (2022-23) and Secretary (2023-24) of the BC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
Hutto appeared and started in 49 total games for Brevard, becoming a mainstay on the defensive end with 51 total ground balls and 39 caused turnovers.
